Reports & Exports ​

The Analytics -> Reports section of the portal provides two ways to get data out of Continual: automated digest summaries and on-demand CSV exports.

Digests ​

Digests are automatically generated summaries of your factory's performance, delivered on a regular schedule.

  • Daily digest: Generated each morning covering the previous day's activity — check completion, missed checks, defects, and deviations.
  • Weekly digest: Generated at the start of each week covering the prior week's performance trends.

Viewing Digests ​

Go to Analytics -> Reports -> Digests. Select a factory and browse available digests by date. Each digest shows:

  • Completion and compliance rates for the period.
  • Counts of missed checks, defects, and deviations.
  • Notable changes compared to the prior period.

Digests are generated automatically by the platform when digest reporting is enabled for a factory. Admins and Owners can review factory-level digest settings from Settings -> Factories. Digests appear in the portal as soon as the first generation runs for a factory.

Steering the digest focus ​

Each factory's digest settings include an optional Custom focus note. Use it to tell the digest what to emphasise — for example, "Focus on repeat deviations on the filler line." The note is a light nudge applied to both the daily and weekly digest: it shifts emphasis and tone but keeps the digest's standard structure, metrics, and sections. Leave it blank to use the default digest. Notes are limited to 500 characters.

CSV Exports ​

On-demand CSV exports let you extract raw data for analysis in spreadsheet tools or data pipelines.

Go to Analytics -> Reports -> Exports. Three report types are available:

Check Definitions Report ​

Exports the current check configuration for a factory — titles, schedules, kind, grace period, evidence requirement, and status. Useful for auditing what checks are defined and verifying configurations across machines.

Check Activity Report ​

Exports check instance data for a selected time range — one row per instance, with check title, kind, hierarchy, due time, grace period end time, status, and outcome note. Useful for detailed compliance auditing and external trend analysis.

  • Maximum range: 90 days per export.
  • Filter by factory, line, machine, and date range before generating.

Corrective Actions Report ​

Exports action records — including category, status, root cause, resolution notes, and timestamps. Filter by factory and status before generating. Useful for root cause analysis and CAPA (corrective and preventive action) documentation.

Generating A Report ​

  1. Choose the report type from the Exports tab.
  2. Set filters (factory, line, machine, date range as applicable).
  3. Click Generate.
  4. When the report is ready, click Download to save the CSV file.

Report generation runs asynchronously — for large date ranges it may take a few seconds. The report list at the bottom of the page shows recent exports and their status.

Note: Up to three reports can be generating at once per organisation across all report types. Wait for a report to complete before requesting more if that limit is reached.

Who Can Do This ​

Managers, Admins, and Owners can generate and download reports and view digests. Operators do not have access to this section.

Expected Result ​

A generated export reaches the ready state and downloads as a CSV containing the selected factory, hierarchy, status, and date filters.
