Account & Preferences
Each user can manage their profile, notification preferences, and display settings from the account section of the portal.
For invitations, forgotten passwords, second-factor verification, and kiosk PINs, see Access & Sign-In.
Accessing Account Settings
Click your name or avatar in the portal sidebar, or go directly to Account.
The account section has three tabs: Profile, Preferences, and Security. Notification settings are found inside the Preferences tab.
Profile
The Profile tab shows your personal information — name, email, organisation, and role — as retrieved from the authentication provider.
To update your name or email, click Edit in provider. This opens the identity provider profile screen where you can make changes. Updates are reflected in Continual after your next sign-in.
Preferences
The Preferences tab controls display defaults for the portal.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Default factory | The factory pre-selected when you open factory-scoped views. Saves you from choosing each time. |
| Timezone | Your local timezone for displaying dates and times. Defaults to your browser's detected timezone. |
| Locale | Number and date format preferences. Options include English (US, AU, UK), Deutsch, and Français. |
Changes to preferences take effect immediately without a page reload.
Notifications
The Notifications section inside Preferences lets you control which events send you push notifications (mobile) and email alerts.
Available Notification Events
| Event | Push | |
|---|---|---|
| Check due | ✓ | ✓ |
| Proposal created | ✓ | ✓ |
| Action created | ✓ | ✓ |
| Action closed | — | ✓ |
| Action reopened | ✓ | ✓ |
| Action assigned to your function | ✓ | ✓ |
| Daily compliance summary | — | ✓ |
| Weekly report | — | ✓ |
Toggle push and email independently for each event. Use the master mute switch at the top to silence all notifications without losing your individual settings.
Notifications are routed to the people scoped to where the event happened, not broadcast to everyone with a given rank. A check-due or action notification reaches members whose access covers that line or factory, at the same grain as their own scope: someone granted a single line hears about that line specifically, while someone granted a whole factory hears about it at the factory level.
Proposal-created notifications go to the reviewers who can act on that proposal kind: managers, admins, and owners scoped to the proposal's line or factory review new-check and check-change proposals, and team leaders scoped to the line join them for failed-centreline target-change proposals, since team leaders can accept or reject those directly. Email is enabled by default; push is available but off by default. On mobile, tapping a proposal push notification opens that proposal.
Action assigned to your function notifies members of the function (e.g. maintenance, quality) an action was routed to, scoped to where the action is. Assigning an action to a function at a whole factory reaches everyone with that function anywhere in the factory, since the person who can pick it up may not be tied to one line; assigning it to a specific line reaches only members scoped to that line. Both push and email are on by default.
Team leaders and operators don't have portal access, so proposal-review emails they receive link to nothing — the email tells them to open the mobile app instead of showing a button. Action emails always include a working link for every rank.
Push Notifications
Push notifications are sent to the Continual mobile app on your device. To receive them:
- Install the mobile app.
- Sign in with the same account used in the portal.
- Accept the notification permission prompt when first opening the app.
If you decline the permission or change it in your device settings, push notifications will not arrive even if they are enabled here.
Email Notifications
Email notifications are sent to the address on your account. Check your spam folder if expected emails are not arriving.
Security
The Security tab lets you sign out of the portal and view the current application version.
To sign out:
- Go to
Account->Security. - Click
Sign out.
This signs you out of the portal session. On your next visit you will be prompted to sign in again.
